An Official Artefact of the Sanctum – designed by FireTap Games ®
From the sacred tomes of remembrance, ancient truths of the realm are revealed.
For millennia, the timeless words of the Sanctum have been known throughout the realm. Yet beyond the Sanctum’s walls, a word heard has not always been a word received. And so it is that many have forgotten how these darkest of days have come to pass.
Within the sacred tomes of the Chronomikon are preserved the origins of the Ancient Faith, the formation of the Pentarchion of Sanctuaries, and the relics that unveiled the sacred banner of the Holometrion.
Woven among these records are the rise and fall of kingdoms, the vows of emperors, the trials of Scribes, and the long, dark chain of events that carried the realm into the Age of the Rift, to the very edge of extinction.
Herein is the remembrance of Sacred Time and the unveiling of prophecy: the breaking down of the Primordial Pattern, the horror of The Incursion, and the inescapable arrival of The Eschaton.
What is written within these pages is but a fragment. A single collection drawn from the Sanctum’s preserved remembrance, so that no truth may be lost to the silence of time.
This collection does not seek to contain the whole. Yet within these pages, one may glimpse echoes of the eternal, the unseen movements of the cosmos, and the unveiling of what was, what is, and what yet must be…
These are the Chronicles of the Scribes.
Explore a fragment of the themes preserved within these pages…
The Pentarchion Of Sanctuaries
For countless battles, you have faithfully answered the call of the Sanctum. You stood against The Incursion to protect the walls of what its inhabitants call the Holy City. To many, it was the heart of the Sanctum. Its voice. Its authority. Yet many do not know it by its true name.
It is the Sanctuary of the Firstborne. And it is but one of five.
The Sanctum is not a single city, nor a solitary will. It is a Pentarchion, formed of five Sanctuaries bound together in sacred tension. Each possesses the fullness of the Ancient Faith. Each bears the burden of remembrance.
Yet you have never known the Sanctuary of the Sign. Nor the Sanctuary of the Ecumenon. Nor the Sanctuary of the Cleansed. Nor even the Sanctuary of the Eschaton.
And so seekers ask:
Why were five Sanctuaries established?
How did they come to be?
Who speaks for the Sanctum itself, when no single voice may stand above the others?
“Thus do we write. Thus do we labour.
Thus do we remember.
To find unity with the Source,
and restore the balance of the cosmos.”
— Pentarch Kaleon of the Eschaton,
Sanctuary of the Eschaton, Ascended 3179 AT
The Holometrion
From the earliest days of The Incursion, you have carried this symbol into battle. Since the first Edict was given, it has shielded you. Bound your fate to another. Demanded sacrifice.
Yet until now, you have never known its name. It is the sign of the Holometrion. And though many know of the great energies it channels, few understand that within its sacred geometry are traced the boundaries of freedom, order, and return.
For those who seek, questions follow:
Where did this symbol originate?
How was it discovered?
And why does the Sanctum venerate it so greatly?
“The Holometrion is a symbolic glimpse of divine cartography: a sacred geometry of the cosmos, and a reminder of our ultimate purpose.”
— Scribe Erimos The Endfinder,
Sanctuary of the Eschaton, Ascended 132 AT
The Primordial Pattern & The Cost Of Freedom
You have fought to seal the Riftways that have broken into the realm. You have stood against the horrors that pour through them. Yet few have truly understood what the Rift has been tearing asunder.
The Rift is a fracture in the Primordial Pattern, the foundational layer of creation. The unseen structure through which freedom, order, and existence itself are sustained.
The Sanctum teaches that creation is not held together by force, but by symphonic alignment to The Pattern. To walk in its motion is not to be bound, but to choose alignment freely. Yet freedom is not without consequence. When alignment fractures, corruption takes form, and ruin soon follows.
As the realm endures the Age of the Rift, questions arise:
Can corruption truly be fought?
What fate awaits those who reject The Pattern?
And what remains of creation when freedom forgets its measure?
“Corruption is not merely the absence of good. It is a divergence within The Pattern.”
— Teachings of the Iconseer
Sanctuary of the Sign, Ascended 11 AT
The Ancient Faith
Three millennia before The Incursion tore into the realm, the revelation of the Ancient Faith was rekindled in one known only as The Iconseer. At its centre lies the Triadic Immortal, the sacred name given to the mystery from which all creation unfolds.
The Ancient Faith teaches that creation was never meant to endure through domination, but through harmony. That freedom is not an error in The Pattern, but its defining metaphysical condition. That every living being exists as a freely acting micro-pattern within a greater whole.
Yet the Sanctum does not claim that alignment is simple, nor that it guarantees virtue. It teaches only this: freedom is our greatest gift, and our heaviest burden. For its consequences do not end with the self, but echo across the cosmos.
And so timeless questions endure:
Who was The Iconseer?
What events gave rise to the Ancient Faith?
How has it shaped kingdoms, Sanctuaries, and heroes alike?
And when truth is entrusted to freedom, can it endure an age of corruption?
“Truth is not taken by force, nor found in mirrors. It descends in silence, and in humility, it is heard.”
— Teachings of the Iconseer
Sanctuary of the Sign, Ascended 11 AT
The Realm Of The Demon
Many have known of the dark entities that have constructed Riftways to the Realm of the Demon. You have fought to seal those breaches. You have faced what emerges from them. Yet few have understood what that realm truly is.
The Realm of the Demon is not a distant place, nor a kingdom with borders. It is a wound. A region of existence where the Primordial Pattern has so violently ruptured, it has collapsed into a self-sustaining zone of corruption. There is no creation beyond The Pattern. There is only the twisted causality of memory, shape, time, and truth.
The Realm of the Demon is the blood of the cosmos.
And amidst that horrific truth, questions endure:
What are demons, truly?
How are they classified?
What are the Whisperers?
Is this the ultimate fate of all patterns?
“We once believed the Realm of the Demon was a place. It is not. It is a memory of what The Pattern became when it was no longer wanted. The horror is not that it exists. The horror is that we created it.”
— Pentarch Kaleon of the Eschaton
Sanctuary of the Eschaton, Ascended 3175 AT
Three Millennia Of Sacred Time
The Incursion did not come to be in isolation. Since the time of The Iconseer, the Sanctum of the Scribes have preserved the passage of Sacred Time within the Chronomikon. Across three millennia, it records the rise and fall of kingdoms, the founding of Sanctuaries, the acceptance of the Ancient Faith, and the countless local struggles that shaped the realm long before The Incursion tore it open.
The Sanctum did not integrate into every land in the same way. Some regions welcomed its guidance. Others resisted it. In some ages, the Sanctum stood as a shield. In others, it was forced to withdraw and endure.
Within the tomes of the Chronomikon are not merely events, but the echoes of The Pattern’s movement. Alongside the trials of creation, it records the victories of individuals who brought alignment and healing to the realm. The motion of history cycles, yet ascends. And even amid great good, the ancient tendrils of corruption never sleep.
And so, without remembrance, new questions arise:
Who were the Scribes and Pentarchs that helped shape the Sanctum?
How did the Sanctum integrate among diverse peoples and cultures?
What has been forgotten along the way?
Who or what caused The Incursion?
“The Chronomikon is the means by which we glimpse the movements of the Primordial Pattern. Through the memory of its tomes arise truths, prophecies, and wisdom. They can be seen as divine echoes, as sacred whispers. In studying its fractals, we are bound to the remembrance of The Sign.”
— Scribe Agapitos the Unifier
Sanctuary of the Ecumenon, Ascended 52 AT
Prophecy And The Eschaton
In the early centuries of the Sanctum, fragments of prophecy were discovered and recorded within the Chronomikon. Not as commands, nor as certainties, but as ancient patterns of meaning and iconography. To this day, most remain preserved within the walls of the Sanctuary of the Eschaton.
These prophecies did not name heroes.
They spoke instead of moments. Of convergences. Of choices not yet made, and paths not yet taken. From these sacred artefacts, the Sanctum has foreseen many events, including the arrival of The Incursion — and more troubling still, the drawing near of the Eschaton. The end of all things.
You have heard that you are the prophecy made manifest.
But the Chronicles ask deeper questions:
Do prophecies reveal the future —
or do they merely reveal who we choose to become?
And if The Eschaton draws closer…
what hope remains for those who still walk within The Pattern?
“To declare an end not yet written is not prophecy…
It is pride. And pride is the first step towards the Rift of The Pattern.”
— Scribe Erimos the Endfinder
